This keto churro chaffle recipe tastes like those sweet deep-fried treats, but with fewer carbs!
When I think of churros, my mind goes instantly to Walt Disney World! Those are crunchy, fried, sweet snacks that are some of my favorites. That’s why I knew I had to turn my favorite chaffles into churro chaffles. Now, whenever I crave churros, I just make these!
Low-Carb Breakfast Churros
This is one of my favorite keto chaffle recipes because it tastes sweet without actually having any sugar. Nope, this Keto Churro Chaffle Recipe won’t throw you out of ketosis!
Eat these chaffles for breakfast or grab one when you really need a snack. They are full of protein without too many carbs.
How To Make Keto Churro Chaffles
Keto chaffles took the low-carb community by storm because they are so easy to make and taste amazing. They easily replace bread in lots of lunch and snack recipes.
You’ll need a waffle maker for it. Eash chaffle recipe is different because you’ll change what you mix into it. My churro chaffles have a different topping that makes them taste like churros.
What’s In Keto Churro Chaffles
The entire recipe is at the bottom of the post. First, here’s what you’ll need from the store in order to make them.
- Egg
- Mozzarella Cheese – Shred it first. Save time and buy a bag of pre-shredded cheese. No other cheese can replace mozzarella in these chaffles.
- Almond Flour – Use blanched almond flour for the best texture. Almond meal will make your chaffles taste grainy.
- Sugar-Free Sweetener – I used Swerve granular sweetener. Other things that can work include Monk Fruit Sweetener or Erythritol.
- Baking Powder
- Butter – Salted or unaltered butter make them taste the same. For nutrition reasons, I prefer to use real butter over margarine.
- Cinnamon
Health Benefits of Cinnamon
Another reason I adore these churro chaffless is because cinnamon is actually really good for you! If you can find ways to add this spice to your recipes, do it!
Here’s a really quick overview of the biggest health benefits of cinnamon:
- It Has Medicinal Properties – It has a compound in it called cinnamaldehyde which is proven to have powerful effects on health and metabolism.
- Contains Antioxidants – It is loaded with polyphenols and has more antioxidants than garlic and oregano.
- Anti-Inflammatory – Cinnamon helps your body fight infections and repair tissue damage.
- Reduces Risk Of Heart Disease – It reduces “bad” LDL cholesterol and stabilizes “good” HDL cholesterol.
- Improves Insulin Sensitivity – It can dramatically reduce insulin resistance, which helps this hormone do its job.
Keto Chaffle Recipe Ideas
Have you ever made a chaffle before? There are so many different ways you can make them. A basic chaffle is egg, mozzarella cheese, and almond flour. Beyond that, you can add different low-carb mix-ins and toppings.
My blueberry chaffle recipe is one way to add antioxidants and flavor.
Another idea is to drizzle with this sugar-free caramel sauce. This makes it taste like a dessert!
How To Store Chaffles
Since these are made with cheese, they need to be stored in your refrigerator. Keep them in an airtight container or bag so they don’t dry out.
They will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 3 days.
They are so easy to make that I prefer to make them fresh. They taste better fresh too.
